Scaffolding
Why This Matters
Reclamation work thrives when communities step up as scaffolding — holding space, offering steady support, and helping individuals carry the weight of their healing. Faith leaders, educators, and families each play unique roles in shaping environments of belonging.
For Faith Leaders
Right now, a Reclamation Circle is piloting for later-in-life lesbians who are navigating spiritual and religious harm and reclaiming their spirituality. This is the primary focus at the moment.
What is most helpful from faith leaders right now?
Share experiences of LGBTQ+ women, AFAB individuals, and the LGBTQ+ community as a whole in your congregation.
Describe what support would make it possible to show up as an ally, advocate, or safe presence.
Indicate interest in meeting directly with Circle participants in a Reclamation on Tap setting — a space for conversation between faith leaders and the communities being served.
The Scaffolding structure is in the works. Outreach to faith leaders will begin in the coming days, and I will update this page as the rollout plan solidifies.
